Talkin Village is just over half a mile away and has a lovely pub, The Blacksmith's Arms which serves meals and locally brewed beers, including some from the Brampton brewery.
Brampton (3m) is our nearest town and quite charming. Good shops include 2 butchers, 2 bakers, the Half Moon Health Food Shop, and many others.
Talkin Tarn is our nearest lake (1m) and is fun to walk around, go boating, fishing or take part in one of their many events.
Walby Park Farm is a new attraction and has just won an award. Children love it and is an excellent place to go if the weather isn't too good.
New Mills Trout Farm offers the chance to learn how to fish and how to cast a fly as well as being an excellent place for lunch in their tearoom.
Carlisle is a must for the shopper and the heritage visitor with the smallest but most beautiful Cathedral and the fiercest looking castle.
Hadrian's Wall is a World heritage site and must not be missed The Lake District is only a short drive away and Ullswater is 25m Gretna Green is the place for romantics and is one route to Scotland as the Scottish Border is only 12 miles away.
